Against our agent’s recommendation, we saw those as big ticket opportunities for price reduction.

Volume slowed down, prices went up or stayed the same (flight to quality), and then the market continued to go up from 2015-2019 lol.

My only hope is that the long term vs short term battle doesn’t ruin whole economies before that happens.South Lake Tahoe is now home of the $2,000 parking ticket for STRs.

Focus on your big ticket expenses if you become the owner - roof, HVAC, updated electric/plumbing, foundation.  

Looking for some other ideas about where to put money to place short term ($1,000 for one year, the other $1,000 for 2 yrs), basically this is money on top of my emergency fund that I'm saving for big ticket costs for either car/house.

If you search hard enough here and do couple flights... you could have a pretty good grasp of the area.

On a 20 unit, it's hard to justify flight/hotel to see your property, which are the ones you'll need to visit more often.
