The problem I still have with real estate in a 401k plan is that real estate, by its very nature, is very heavily tax friendly to begin with, so you aren't really gaining as much sticking it in a retirement account.And when you do cash out, you're going to be taxed as regular income coming out.

On the other hand, though, I think you'd have to be equally nuts to think a ban on STRs in areas like mission beach is at all likely.The fact that the CA Coastal Commision went on record to say that they in no way support blanket bans on STRs will heavily influence the situation here.

In the end, this will be good publicity for ABnB.It will:- answer questions for many would be host- settle concerns for some current hosts- provide direction to be a successful host- provide some much needed publicity while Home Away is heavily advertising.
