So this gives an option to sell or rent.

I used to work for a large regional bank and I don’t recall us ever implementing this option.

The plan is to hold it long enough to see appreciation do it's thing AND in time we have the option to turn it into an entire house airbnb or even a long term rental for passiveness sake.

What are my options?

If they complain, show them this part and ask them to recall discussing their responsibility during your onboarding conversation.The other option, you can choose not being a landlord if this is to much to handle. 

Owners mistakenly ASSUME all PMCs offer the exact SAME SERVICES and PERFORM those services EXACTLY THE SAME WAY, so price is the only differentiator – so, they often select the first PMC they call or that calls them back!

I heard the Bigger Pockets episode around the same time and thought it couldn't hurt to have a lender in my back pocket that could offer that option should the situation arise again. 

I envision offering the full gambit of stay options: short, medium, and long term rentals.

Finding some sort of owner occupied house hack-ish option seems to be the most realistic path so long as your debt to income ratio is solid/lend-able.
