What do I do if I come home one day, and I find all my stuff on the side of the street? 

I'm making a decent salary at my W2 job, enough where I can't just quit it to spend my time wandering the streets of SF / Oakland hoping to come across a deal.

Get coffee, scroll Google News, read anything on economics (get coffee), Fed Reserve, EU (get coffee), any Wall Street Journal articles. 

I am moving for my W2 job, and have the opportunity to rent a 2/2 apartment from my dad in a 4-plex on a street full of rentals, or to buy a nice 1990 built 3/2 family home in a nicer part of town and fix it up while my husband and I live there.

Is this down the street from your project house that you got from the city and converted the attic to a 3rd bedroom?

well crazy it took a year to finally finish a 6 story 10 apt building on Bleeker street Greenwich Village near Washington sq. every time we opened up a wall or floor there was a new surprise so this was a stress and money pit but this past weekend signed leese to rent the last apt and I think i need a vacation now lol

Maybe contact National Grid or Eversource to find out what they would charge or cover completely for adding the 2 additional gas meters, since there is already a gas line from the street.
