North, South, East, and West is the best way to detail Scranton.East Scranton is one of my favorites, it houses the Medical College, two Universities, and two large hospitals.West Scranton is starting to be over-run by gangs and drugsNorth Scranton is off the beaten path but can still offer good opportunitiesSouth Scranton was the rough neighborhood for a while but now it is up and coming.

There are a bunch of medical offices around in addition to the military and the tourism so you really can't go wrong.

To attract these young professionals/medical residents/graduate students i'm trying to identify areas. 

Easy access to highways, medical centers, schools is the driving force for rent increase and decrease, just like Houston Multi-families, most of these new constructions will cashflow within the year as long as the location is pristine!

You will want to shop that around because a lot of banks are different. they will know what you do for a living and a lot of banks have options for docs and medical professionals- lower interest rates, etc.

Near the medical campus you should be closer to your $1500 mark.

I have a mid priced apartment condo unit next to a hospital that I would ideally rent to a medical professional (nurse, technician, resident, etc.).

This unit is 3400 square foot, and currently a medical office building, which more or less will remain the same function once upgraded 

There are three “STR locations” in San Antonio:Around the three military bases (one has the largest military medical facility in the Department of Defense)Downtown - which is also close to the military medical facility One of the military bases is the basic training for the Air Force, so there’s a weekly rotation of visitors.Let me know if you want to research this market further.I wish you all the best.
