What you may want to consider is moving to the area and renting for a bit while you get established(jobs) and then once you have jobs and financing in order you could go house hunting.

I suggest you stay away from the large residential developments in all the local countries, which are always over marketed and hyped to foreigners, though they will include very appealing financing.Better to stay commercial and look at tenanted multi-story retail shop-lots or professional offices in established areas, in my view.

Without knowing how much you have available - you might consider working with an established lender before going out on your own - there are a lot of gotcha's in this business, not nearly as simple as most think of it to be.
