Unless you own the house cash, in addition to the advice you've received, you can't just transfer a house from personal to an LLC without risking the option of the loan being called since the LLC does not have two years of tax returns.For new investors without cash to buy, LLCs are about the biggest cause of analysis paralysis out there.

Networking with investor friendly agents that have local connections is a good start

I work in tech but am a small RE investor and keep a very close eye on the local market. 

While a lot of what you'll learn will be from experience, I do think there are some resources to increase your knowledge base and give you more confidence as you take your next steps.One book I'd highly recommend starting with is The book on managing rental properties. 

I'll second what John said and add that there are a whole bunch of investors asking this very question right now.  

At this point I had found I was pretty good at finding and managing tenants so I partnered with a real estate broker and started managing for other investors.
