@Andrew Scott, In my much younger days I did a ton of these but I wouldn't touch anything structured the way the gurus and coaches 'teach' today with a 10 foot pole.

Sure, they often offer a more-in-depth, paid seminar or coaching session the following weekend, but the content at the general meeting alone is worth it.  

@John Crandell Sounds moe like a guru club to me.

In one of John T Reed's books he talks about how a person can manage 30 or so units on their own, maybe up to 40 if they are superman, but after that it becomes overwhelming and they need to put systems in place and have other people take over some of the workload.
