Are there any other taxing authorities who may be assessing taxes on the property (some counties have city taxes and water assessments and school taxes and other local taxes - if you dont know to ask the operator won't tell you)7.

Recently purchased my own house for $260k, 3/2 on a quarter acre with a pool, down the street from a park and in a good school district with low crime, and could definitely get $1,500 rent for it.Although, at $250k purchase price, 25% down and a 5% interest rate (typical for investment properties) your monthly mortgage payment will be roughly $1,340 per month.

There are places where 2% or better is possible and the neighborhood and schools are still good but they will most likely need a little work and are usually bank owned properties.
