AJ Osborne and Scott Meyers are industry leaders with actionable books and podcasts.I'd also encourage you to network with other storage operators and consider a JV on your first deal to learn in the field!

This site is a great platform to be on when starting out because of all of the benefits that come with it.

I encourage you to consider who your tenant pool will be and try to understand if they will be open to sharing the space with so many others.You will also want to consider hiring a very thorough cleaner/team member with boots on the ground to ensure that items are in their proper storage, and broken items replaced—7 tenants in a furnished rental will get messy, so you will want someone to help you manage the logistics. 

This should encourage the PM to rent out your unit asap. 

Hop on just about any social media platform and start following those agents that work with investors, own investment properties themselves, etc. in the areas you're interested in. 

I think you will find a lot of value on this platform and can network with likeminded individuals from around the globe.
