A single member LLC should not change your income tax filings at all since its not seen for Federal Income Tax purposes.A Multi-Member LLC would need to file separately as a partnership (unless you make a relatively rare election for it to be taxed as a corporation).

I would have to look but LLCs just came out in the late 1970s, and the early restrictions to get the pass through taxing option required that you have elected a certain number of points the IRS was using then.
