A "middleman" would be the wo/man between an asset seller and an asset buyer, who generally does not change the basic asset but facilitates the transaction in some fashion that (theoretically) adds value.

‘Amazingly most of this resistance, but not all, is eliminated if you actually purchase the property yourself and then resell it.  

I worked with an agent on selling my property, and she was amazing.

I like single tenant more but will buy a retail center still if it has amazing upside for me to stabilize.

It's in amazing condition that I could rent out from day one but am repainting, putting new appliances in and changing the floor plan so that the floor plan is more single family friendly than it currently is.
