Write them down....put dates with them.I make 10 year, 5 year, and 1 year goals......I use several catagories....just a free form style under the headings....Fun----this is your buck list....maybe a trip or experience....for many of these they're pretty simple....3 zoos around me I want to visit, stay at a famous hotel, hike....some are a little more complicated ...like 30 day hike on Camino in Spain and 60 day hike on 88 temple route in Japan.Family & Friends---might be just getting together at certain intervals, or a phone call, or birthday card.Finance-things like save $10,000 for next property, 3 properties in 5 years, zero credit card debt, pay cash for cars.Faith-Fitness-I always phrase each goal in the past tense.....

Having said that, it will certainly require a property management company since you'd likely not want to take the trip out there routinely.Just remember, it will not rent for the same price as it would down here. 

I took a trip recently and saw some great single family opportunities in a perfectly walkable, suburban looking neighborhood.  

He tried to save us a month, since there were none of these spacers in Belize, he used what he had, I brought some down the next trip. 

After returning from my most recent trip I made connections with folks who are property managers but would like to get the perspective of others who have attempted things like this. 

My idea is to sell out, seller financing and make a trip to the bank!

Nearby access to a large metropolitan area like Seattle gives you a great marketplace to draw guests from if you are able to provide a nice enough experience to lure them from other trip options to your STR.

or they can spend time interviewing facilitators like agents and travel to the market. out of state investors come in all kinds. some fly to the market and look for themselves some never do. the ones that never do have the problems. take one trip is what I recommend
