The house right next door, who happens to be late and may or may not foreclose, that bank can keep their current contract and we won't force a sale there, but you, the bank that did it's due diligence and lent to the responsible payer who could afford to buy the home and has actually kept it current through the great recession, you're screwed and your books are screwed because you'll be forced to write down losses on actual current loans in your portfolio.

I've got a friend who said that an indian casino is going to be built next door to his small neigborhood (50-60 homes in neighborhood) -- the casino property will be directly adjacent to the neighborhood (as-in sharing a common boundary line).

If it makes any difference, my house is at the bottom of a hillside (it butts up to the bottom of it), and my garage is street level, with the living spaces sitting on top of the garage (and crawl space).Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It's so difficult to get ANY response from contractors that it leaves the door open for the more unscrupulous contractors to take advantage of people.I recently bought a house for $13k that needed all of the usual repairs of a typical distressed property.
