I came across real estate after continuously seeing a real estate business in my local Houston neighborhood purchasing old, dingy homes and flipping them into something beautiful. 

I live in Bellevue area, have been to a couple of meetups but most of them require you to spends upwards of $2000 on educational courses if you are looking for mentorship!

To educate myself about what I should be looking for I've been listening to the bigger pockets podcasts, specifically ones explaining how to get started in real estate, how to find and finance deals.I hear two things constantly that i'm not entirely sure how to approach,ONE - Get good at analyzing deals - I don't know how to do this and i'm not really sure how to learn it.TWO - Establish criteria for what you are looking for - I don't know what criteria I should use to narrow my search. how do you decide what to look for?

We originally signed a 2 year lease and when that was up, the owners let us continue at the same rate on a month-to-month basis.

This was before I started educating myself on buy and hold, and looking outside of my own backyard for good deals.

Hi, I inherited a 1 family home, where I had been living for more than 10 years, I did not pay rent prior to inheriting, continued to live in after inheriting, no interruption.Got the deed 1.5 years ago after probate procedures , but inherited it 3years ago as a matter of state law the title of the property passes on to the heir upon the descendent’s death.For the last two years it has been owner occupied rental 50% of the property several rooms, it is a small mansion.

I literally don't want to spend time/money on property (since it is NNN) and continue to focus on current job.- If for any reason, my visa doesn't get approved or have to go back to home country (india), will it be too difficult to sell the property being commercial?
