Hard to do remotely, probably best to make as much contact as possible long distance and then spend a week or two in the area looking at properties, interviewing agents and property managers, etc.My advice to Bay Area investors?

Theres tons of info on here, and some great people and resources. 

Any time there was something I wasn't satisfied with, I could just call my contact at HD and they would take care of it.
