Not sure if you got this resolved or not, but highly used wood surfaces like a floor or butcher block counters and the like are going to have all kinds of dirt, oils or in this case even wax.  

What is the relationship between local housing and the price/profitability of oil?

Water has LOTS of minerals in it, lime etc.

The sellers (gas company) want to retain the mineral rights and the universal pipeland easement.

the bubble "pop" ain't happening. when you've got a decrease in home prices not seen since the depression, it's bound to come back up.I find it comical where everybody fears a bubble yet at this time last year I was speaking of how we will see a double digit increase soon. all of the "BP nation" told me I was on drugs and that "the experts" don't expect that for some time.I hear a lot about the govt being in debt & I agree - they're incompetent fools yet the value of this country - just based upon precious metals, oil, etc puts us at an infinite number. we ain't going anywhere.and let's just say the housing market does crash. good!

Although the paint looked great in the unit I ended up painting EVERYTHING with Kilz oil based paint.

We plan on adding elctric heat in leu of the oil heat it has. 

Yes that's real estate.Now if he only owns the equipment and leases the land he still may be able to 1031 depending on how he owns the rights to the minerals.
