She has showed me that even after 50 (she swears she is not over 50 haha) that you can reinvent yourself and pivot careers.

@Marcus Bizal no need to reinvent the dome, for the first step just call the guys in Canada and ask them about their costs etc.

A good real estate attorney may already have something they can offer you or update as needed, without reinventing the wheel. 

So I am just a small fish at the moment, but not a newbie.I have not actively invested in many years now, as I was very busy travelling the world working on cruise ships, and then travelling more during my holidays.I have been living in a bubble for many years at sea, so I figured it would be a great idea to join BiggerPockets in order to make new friends with likeminded people and hopefully fast track to doing a deal, as I don't want to take forever to learn about the current market and areas, find deals and basically reinvent the wheel.Is there anyone willing to share some tips / advice / feedback on what areas to focus on, where to find deals or anything else that you might find beneficial?

No sense reinventing the wheel that so many first time investors make.

One does not need to reinvent the wheel as in figuring out what market is "good".

Just look at some sucessful properties and copy their design without paying for someone to reinvent the wheel.
