My name is James, I found BiggerPockets by listening to podcasts and recently buying Brandon Turner's book (audio version) "The Book on Rental Property Investing" I am taking action and jumping into the arena after talking and dreaming about it for years.

So I was originally thinking about wholesaling to start but after listening to some podcasts it seems like that is really difficult to do since it involves much precision (one of the casts recommended it for the experts).

Take a look at the blog posts, listen to the wholesaling podcasts and check out the guides under the "Education" tab.

I've been reading every book I can get my hands on for the last year or so, and I'm currently almost done listening to the Bigger Pockets's "The Book on Investing in Real Estate With No (And Low) Money Down", and I love it.

Regarding investing in the market, please don't just buy standard mutual funds, either do index, or what I would recommend even more is read Tony Robbins book: "Money, Master the Game" and listen to the section specifically on asset allocation by Ray Dalio.
