Ultimately, although the financial compensation in investment banking has been highly rewarding, enabling me to gain a sense of financial freedom, the 80-100 hour work weeks have taken its toll, both physically and mentally.

And, I believe that is a much, much smaller percentage of the total homeless population when compared to those who can't find housing due to mental illness, addiction, etc.

Flipping requires different mentality and strategy.In short term, flipping has more risk/reward than owning rental, specialy if you have your own contracting biz.

I had a mental block around "needing to suffer" to earn my money, and the manual labor and long hours of manufacturing gave that to me. 

It's been very profitable, but does take a different approach and mentality.

My $0.02 ...Our children are so indoctrinated in the consumer / employee mentality by their own home life and the world around them that is seems only natural for the more astute among them to seek sites like this where they can learn about "the world 'out there'", "the real world", etc.Our schools are woefully lacking in financial education as compared to countries in Europe and other nations in other places.
