The research you do in your downtime may have conflicting opinions on if it qualifies or not, but I would think most everyone would agree that the work you're doing specifically for your employer does not count.

Hi @Paul Pratt I ran into a similar situation previously and I don't know a specific company but you can start by researching the following.

If it's the ladder, one word of advise and you should use this as the anchor for your decision making process:In order to be successful in the long run in business, your credibility is everything.

If its your first property, I would strongly advise against jumping in until you have some cash reserves saved up - even the most turnkey properties always end up needing some $ for something or the other unexpected. 

I ask because there are approved foundations plans that call out specific requirements (like strapping) and may qualify it as a permanent home.

If you were from a specific country that is on a watch list, then expect more of the same.I invest in the USA and UK.
