This will increase the asset basis and wipe out all the expenses.Not sure which version of QuickBooks you're in, but in QB 2014, you would create a journal entry by going to Company and then Make Journal Entry.

I guess you can use the same codes for both the knob and deadbolt, many be shorter codes (4 digits only).I am only using keyless deadbolt so far with non lock knob.If there is a cheap bluetooth version of the keyless knob I may use that, so the tenants do not have to enter code.

Use the free version of trulia to find some basic info then take that basic info, burn some shoe leather going to the property and checking it out then go to a realtor and they will find you more info on it.My parents were looking for a foreclosure for themselves and found one on the free side of trulia and got all the info they needed this way.
