If its better spent elsewhere then you may want to reinvest or redirect that money into other vehicles with comparable risk (not saying you should go full speculation or full spec like Cypto's, building spec homes, or something you have never done before, etc).The other way to look at it is if you pay off that 3% note or mortgage you're in essence saying that you're accepting to save 3% annually or .25% per month (X12 months = 3%) effectively rather than investing it else where.

What Charlie said plus factor in all the expenses the agent has such as gas, vehicle maintenance and insurance, health insurance, E&O insurance, desk fees, MLS fees, Realtor association fees, marketing, cell phone, etc. and they’re almost certainly losing money on this transaction even with the $800 added on.
