@Aspen Potter  If you are thinking mid-term rentals, be sure you look near hospitals, or medical facilities such as infusion centers.

I am in Michigan and have recently received a request from a tenant indicating he is a licensed medical marijuana user.I have read most of the recent posts here and on the web at large but this topic is ever changing and just wanted some input, feedback from those who have dealt with this issue first hand.It does appear that the feds, specifically the DEA, has been told to keep their nose out of the individual State's rulings regarding this matter.Any other thoughts, ideas from those having experienced this issue with tenants?

I have a few chores and I occasionally give a little medication but usually I have about 8 of my 10 hours to myself to do whatever I want on my shift.

I have a 4 bedroom/2 bath house in Euclid, OH that will be free in a couple of months and thinking of doing the same thing, renting to travel nurses or traveling medical personnel, by the room. 

While you cannot ask the medical reason for the ESA you can require documentation for the need of such from the APPROPRIATE medical provider. 

However their rents are around $4,000/mo in a $1M+ medical building.

My mother-in-law will be starting a new job next after an almost 2 year long stint back working under the table, but her own physical ailments are becoming worse.Their combined income is only $21/hr.They owe $70K on a home worth ~$170K that was free and clear, but stupidly signed onto one of their parent's cash-out refis before death.There are additional credit card debts that are nearly paid off (around $5K I believe).With abysmal credit, selling the home and renting would likely be a wash, if not a worse situation.I would like to see them grow a saving account of some type.

Many if not most mid-term guests are traveling nurses or other medical profesisonals.

The grad student population is big too in Riverside as there is also a medical school.
