Because fair housing law includes numerous protected categories -- race, sex, religion, and so on-- chances are that  a disappointed applicant can fit himself or herself into at least one of the protected categories and file a discrimination claim.  

I say, first, fire your PM.Next, it's perfectly legal to advertise that you want a particular type of tenant as long as you don't violate the protected classes.So, as long as you don't care what color or religion, etc., a professional commuter is, it's legal to say you want to rent to one.Remember, you just can't discriminate against people on the protected class list. 

Take emotions and religion out of it, they took advantage of your kindness.

Before investing in stocks though I would read books about the stock market and stay with big companies that pay an increasing dividend.I have a question about it being against your religion to take on debt.

You rent to People, not roommates, not children, not a particular race, religion, etc. etc.

If your requirements aren't published, applicants can claim you are churning application fees or playing favorites based on a protected class (race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, familial status, etc.) rather than based on published criteria.

Well, statistics show that people are leaving not only church, but religion, in record numbers.
