Any 2nd lender has a much higher risk of a loss from the DOS, and that's if they can even wrap their head around the title/loan name issue.

The takeaway here is to become familiar with determining loan quality for yourself when working w/ a broker.In addition to the capital gains issue Jeff mentioned, there is cash drag.

I also hire a plumber when I have an issue at my house, I hire an attorney to draft documents for me and I hire a CPA to do my taxes.

Some of the orgs have silly, or poorly thought out internal processes that lead to issues like this.Not a good sign, as several have mentioned.Recommend getting to the bottom of it or replacing them.
