What price range is a good starting point I don't want to start to low and be trapped for maintenance repairs and such but don't want to overwhelm myself with debt to begin?

This way they will shop your loan across a wide range of investors and get the best option for your specific situation.

@Daria B  the area where we want to be is very limited for any real estate for sale in my price range.  

don't own any other than some duplexes but manage and have managed multiples in the 30 unit range.
