this time as a guest, we rented a farm house in Sequoia National Park, beautiful house surrounded by rivers , horses, cattle, gorgeous view, ... park the car in front of the house, walk into the house and start checking out... take stuff to the kitchen and guess what is posted on the fridge: Huge picture of a rattle snake, with the word WARNING in red, right above another post of a huge picture of a black tarantula same scary sign.

@Geneva Crisostomo It's best to make sure the infrastructure is in place before advertising (i.e. lot paved and/or concreted, access to water/sewer, electric, gas, etc).

Regarding your property tax question: If you buy a distressed property in Florida, the county tax assessor will "assume" that you are going to fix up, and the year after you purchase it, your tax assessment will automatically be adjusted to be the same as the surrounding (similar) homes.
