There's an abandoned home we are trying to buy and when we talk with the owner they explain that their parents left the home to them and they "just can't stand the thought of selling it" all the while paying taxes and maintenance.  

I would just like to add that I don't believe there is a one size fits all solution nor one supreme option that stands above the rest. 

And I know that something like this is impossible to quantify - just going for that one more thing to make us stand apart!

Studies even show people who dress nice stand taller and have more confidence.I see myself as a business man and professional, so I dress accordingly.I am not saying you cannot be a landlord if you dress sloppy, but you will gain an advantage if you dress nicely.Also a comment on vehicles.

But if the cat caused no damage I wouldn't charge anything because I don't think it would stand up.Carpets are similar.
