None of the jobs are finished.

About 5 years ago I made a mistake and withdrew about $5,000 from IRA funds that were rolled over from a 401k when I left that job...I am in my early 30's and I am wondering if I should repair that mistake and resave what I spent or just call it a loss?

Great point- I've been waiting for the perfect job to learn the "ropes"....and waiting for the market to come down...and waiting for the market to pick up....and waiting,....and waiting.....

A 988sf roof w/ a 6/12 pitch is only 1,105 square feet of roofing w/ a 10% material waste that's ~12 squares of shingles.Roof Quantity CalculationOakridge roofing shingles are $140/sq at Lowes.12 squares*$140/square = $1,680 in shingle materials + a few hundred dollars of underlayment and flashings, so there shouldn't be more than $2,000 in materials.So in other words your Contractor has quoted you $9,000 for labor for a roofing job that will likely take a crew of 3-4 guys one to two days tops. 

Being out of state and having a W-2 job that demands 90-110 hrs/wk, it is not feasible for me to give the attention needed to the brrr method.

Don't count on a big bank (Wells Fargo, BOA, etc.) to get the job done.

Although I have a job at my college ( Pensacola Christian College)  all that money goes toward school and I keep finding the words “being proof of income “.
