Thank goodness that wasn’t around when I started out.Buying single family homes to rent especially with cash is not going to get you where you want to be quickly or efficiently and definitely is not the best use of your cash.With your experience and skill set you should focus on scaling the flipping business and maybe get into spec houses and infill development if that interests you then invest your cash into larger commercial and multifamily properties. 

Another unit will need more specialized/extensive skills... partial remodel.

What skills and background should I look for In hiring a great General Contractor ?

Work on doing a good job and developing people skills. 

I believe the ability to recognize a great deal is the most critical investment skill.

A good term to start with is "Real Estate Investor [your state]" and look for public events you can attend.Once you start attending these event and become part of the groups, you'll find more people that have skills and goals that align with yours.Good luck!
