I make a living with my own small business teaching piano lessons at my student's homes and performing occasionally.  

One of the best is the Jet event every third Wednesday at the Texans bar and grille in city center.

. - Recognize there is always some measure of risk and be ok with that (by making sure you are not risking EVERYTHING and then have a just-in-case plan)- Know my own strengths and weaknesses- Overcome weaknesses by putting myself in uncomfortable situations that force me to perform or sink.

I am in the process of purchasing a third house to fix and flip and would LOVE to quit my day job, flip houses and do some electrical work on the side if necessary (I would really like to get out of the contracting business and focus on real estate). 

On one of my recent acquisitions, the Assistant Chief came out and blessed my third floor rooms as bedrooms without installation of external fire escapes. 

When the stress test was performed gray water came out of the Cleanout.    

Hey @Adam Bartomeo,Not unlike many who have posted in this forum, I agree that the low barrier to entry is the underlying cause for poor performance.

I pay the third party company and they pay the seller.
