I think NC may have some unique laws about subject-to purchases so you may want to look into that before you do them there.

Just because a lender might excuse you from a deficiency judgment and not go after you does not mean they accept you walking away from your obligation to repay the debt based on your ideas of economic conditions and hedging against economic conditions.
