@Andy Becker, the nuts and bolts of this I think are going to surround minutiae and not really impact most 1031s. 

I was wondering to see if anyone has experience investing in Creston or surrounding areas. 

Why not look in the surrounding towns to see which one is the next hot market a year from now, but isn't there yet and still has deals.

I believe they wanted a matching nice stained fence on all sides of their property and took it upon themselves to have it done without anyone's consent (they are surrounded by rental properties and the previous fences on all sides were not stained).
