@Todd Powell Good that you have that kind of energy, but if you’re going to scale might as well look into hiring a good PM.

Propane burns hotter so you can't get a nice low simmer of gas.

Glad to see you are not falling into some of the traps that have burned others. 

Unless the loan officer is a hack I would highly recommend staying loyal to the person who has lent his time and energy. 

In addition to both of these, the house has a wood-burning stove in the basement (part of the first floor unit) which is meant for heating purposes.

I will shift my energy in finding a good deal and advertise that good deal.

I'm wondering if I should get rid of the chimney during my new roof installation because I'm not using it now or if it may be beneficial to keep in the future if I say for example install a wood burning stove, get hooked up to oil again, or use some other sort of heating method?

I know some folks here in CO making the out of state thing work but I also know a few who got burned bad, definitely carries more risk than owning a property you can drive to.

Personally, I would do everything my lawyer says, and then ask him about my concerns and see if I should do even more to protect myself.BE VERY CAREFUL OR RISK GETTING BURNED
