Challenging a flawed mortgage I have read a few stories about home owners challenging flawed mortgages, and getting 1st position bank notes extinguished. 

I plan to look for comps to build my case but am looking to hear success stories and get some ideas on building my case to get my taxes lowered.

I've always been inspired to pursue passive income and after reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad I've had the real estate itch.

Looking at a 2 story duplex.  

(Yes I'm using a gorilla reference regarding investors) these are the the investors that are surrounded by the other guys regaling them with stories of how they got their scars.  

It's a single story house.

I have heard horror stories about deals gone bad, and also some very profitable deals.

The area is zoned for a max 4/5 stories with 15 units total, 12 of which are market rate.Construction financing is secured as I have a relationship with a hard money lender who is interested in financing the project, but would need to assume the property next door to move forward with a construction loan.

The house was worth around $35kWeird part of the story.
