It could be over priced, your commission offered might be too low, you could have bad photographs, there could be something about the property that decreases it's desirability compared to other nearby properties, and many agents dont like to both with FSBOs because they tend to be very difficult and usually wont close for a variety of reasons.

However, when you look more closely at the underlying problem of affordability in California, you have to wonder why homebuilders are not rushing to make a buck and fill the huge demand for affordable living - they obviously see a rocky economy ahead and have no desire to be caught out like they were when the credit bubble burst.

You should have no problem selling that property ASAP, probably to some all-cash investor from the Bay Area.BUT - the question you have to ask yourself is "What is the end goal or desired outcome about this investment?"
