After that we had a few evictions with drama, spent more money fixing damaged things that shouldn't of had to, belongings left behind, break ins, loss of rent etc etc.It definitely stopped me from buying other properties, because this one was a suck of time and money, that I believe was a mistake.

While the build was not difficult, there is a learning curve that I believe after the fact would have been more economical to pay for a seasoned set crew.

I believe that if your property is worth 200k you and borrow up to 80% LTV in most cases, some lenders will allow 90% LTV minus what you owe on your first mortgage.

In Albany, I believe you need to hire a licensed plumber to do your plumbing.Is it possible to do some of the work myself - for example laying out a new network of Pex tubing, and then hire a licensed plumber to do the last bit of "clicking it together?"

While I believe the laws are federal, and therefore the same everywhere, a local professional with extensive experience in the area will be able to tell you based on the type, age and location of the property what your potential risk would be and the minimums required by law to have it taken care of, if necessary.
