@Tish Thorpe I think you are smart to think creatively about how to change your financial circumstances.I have only been following biggerpockets for a couple of weeks and I have been repeatedly surprised by how many people come to this site with exactly your plan - wholesaling to build up some cash and then be investors.I am sure some people have done it (starting careers through wholesaling) successfully.

How chivalrous of you to send your fiance to a bad neighborhood to collect rent for you.We have some corner stores in bad Pittsburgh neighborhoods, and I have yet to see one that has bullet proof glass or some magical power to transport a potential victim inside to avoid getting mugged, raped or killed.

If we take the RE agent that just specializes in selling RE or listing RE depending on their market if your smart willing to spend some marketing money ( like you would yellow letters and other marketing for wholesaling) are driven and are good.. you can make pretty good money..
