If the PM company is using public contractors, then maybe they would share that information but you probably wouldn't get as good of a deal as you would with the PM company involved.Why don't you just call a bunch of contractors and get bids, ask as many questions as you desire.

I don't think one is better than the other because everyone has different reasons for getting into real estate and it may be a little more difficult for you to find a team that can support your desire to work with investors.
