I am commenting so I can be updated… the only advice I can offer bud is when you do your HELOC open up a separate bank account move the funds of the HELOC into your private account and then transfer it into the account for the Duplex that way when it comes for taxes you can write off the interest payments for the HELOC.

Gracias.So far the only problem I have found is that my small local bank that originally worked fine with Venmo has stopped accepting their transactions so I am working with USAA Bank where I also have accounts to get the deposits transferred there.

It always depends on what kind of investing you want to get involved in and assets you have to work with that are liquid or can be made liquid like a 401k transferred into a self-directed IRA for example.
