Regarding purchasing another house down the road....the "new" bank will want to know what is going on with a mortgage showing up on your credit report. 

Purchasing the STR first could delay your primary residence purchase.Scenario 2: If you purchase the primary residence first, the primary residence payment may or may not be included in your DTI calculation for the STR purchase.

The resources/websites/services are not mature enough to get information as easily as in the States.I couldn't find a section on BP that is dedicated to Canada and a lot of resources and discussions are specific to the States.

When I initially purchased these properties, the mortgage was based solely on the real estate, with the business value being incidental.I am currently in the process of acquiring a $2 million, 5 bedroom bed and breakfast located in a downtown area in PA.
