We were able to play it to our advantage though and get a sizable credit from the seller to compensate for the issue.Biggest learning experience from the whole process is to start everything as early as possible.

I feel like I could be pretty resilient from investing in the stock market for a few years but I guess I will never know if a bad deal would permanently scare me off or not since I've never owned a home before.Do you think rather than finding an amazing deal it would suffice for now simply to find something that could reduce what I would be spending on rent somewhere and then continue to search for good deals?

In the worst case, this extra money should buy me enough time to continue to pay the mortgage on time as I evict that person if they stop paying the rent and allow me to re-“rent to own” the property or rehab and sell it.
