An asset (free and clear house) is a resource controlled by the enterprise (the homeowner) as a result of past events (the purchase of the house) from which future economic benefits (cash inflow from sale) are expected to flow to the enterprise.Let me ask you this, if you own a free and clear house and you are making a net worth statement for yourself, where would you list the free and clear house?
