Long story short he wanted me to wire him $5,500 and then he would start the paperwork and a lender would call me .I asked him just to see what he would say to send me everything we spoke about in writing and entity name and to have it certified and this was his response! 

Prior to any transfers, it is advised you seek out an attorney in New York to review the terms of your finance agreement and any implications there may be to the transfer, and whether or not you should get the mortgage bank on board prior to the transfer in writing.

The buyers had dropped their offer down to $197 based on an appraisal that came in at 190k (the exact thing that we were drying to avoid by writing an exception into our initial counter offer).

I won’t go into details of the rentals in this post, but I can say, without BiggerPockets and my mentor/business partner, I wouldn’t be writing this.

Some contractors weren't great about writing detailed invoices so in some cases all I have is a large check written to 'roof guy'.So.... question: is there alot of scrutiny from the IRS as to how you determine the basis?
