I think the "ramp up" time is what weeds out a lot of wannabe investors who are looking for a get rich quick plan from the folks who are committed to financial freedom and passionate about REI.

I think if you are really passionate about buy and hold investing (and are ok with the managing aspect) and you're willing to put your all in it while maintaining full time employment (assuming), you can be moderately to very successful.

I will be attending the East Bay BP Meetup next Thursday and look forward to meeting other members.My background is in IT and after more than 18 years I have decided to begin investing and turn my passion for real estate into a full-time occupation.My plan is to begin with a fix and flip strategy primarily on SFR in the Bay Area - Oakland, Vallejo, Richmond, Antioch, Pittsburg, etc. and then once I've gained experience I intend to invest in the hot markets outside of California such as Memphis, Indianapolis and Jacksonville.I will be taking the real estate licensee exam next week and I'm looking for a broker that works primarily with investors who could potentially be a mentor as well.Thank You!

I have already listened to about a dozen of the podcasts and I am truly able to say I have learned an amazing amount of information already.I have a passion for real estate from all angles and I love getting up in the morning to go to work as I love what I do.
