In fact, most lenders/banks have systems that pull data from all over to verify borrower data, and if the first address were to show up, the underwriter will likely question it, and you could possibly be put in a position where you originally expected to put 10% down, but now have to scramble to put 15% and pay the higher interest rate anyhow. 

However, it gives the tenant full control over when they want to vacate the premises, which could lead to scrambling to fill a vacancy on the slowest times of the year, such as November and December.

I assume finding a property then scrambling for funding will likely result in losing the property to someone who can close quickly.

Make sure you have backups so that in the case that you do lose out on this one, you aren't scrambling to find another one.

Also, It's important to have contractors on-call should an issue arise (plumber, electrician, and hvac tech at a minimum) You want to vet these guys before you have a problem - scrambling at the last minute will likely result in you paying premium and potentially receiving subpar work.

Since I was on the hook for it, scrambled to find contractors ( my buyers agent that i used turned out to be useless -- lesson learned)   first two contractors i used  ( through home advisor )  didn't do the proper job , so VA appraisal was still held up.  

Their realtor scrambled to change the listing to the revised timeline and reach out to the other bidders with the new timeframe but in the end they took our offer.

But I didn't, and I can't access the 1031 funds yet, so I am left scrambling a little bit.

In any case, obviously this LO is scrambling to make something happen, perhaps the square footage of the house is larger than was assumed upfront at preapproval (family of 2 spouses and 2 kids buying a 5 br / 4 bath, f. ex, could cause this).

I understand being a little annoyed that you have only one month to scramble, but the fact is that you had a business relationship and they fulfilled the obligations of your agreement.
