My GC rebuilt the entire first floor and properly supported that instead of jacking up the house.The problem is, he has had to make shims on most interior and exterior walls to get a square box for dry wall and siding.

I know that I was excited that I could maybe add a basement bedroom for a rental I have in Indy - just so I could get a better appraisal- So I went ahead and spent the money to add flooring to the basement (which was still a good idea) but then when I tried to call it a basement it didn't pass and then to do an egress window wasn't almost worth the effort... 10K to start sounds about right but that just gets you the egress window in, you need a closet... for it to be dry all the time...
