Hi everyone -I own a 5 bed 4 bath home here in North Austin, TX that I currently house hack.

Purchase price: $158,000 Cash invested: $35,000 Sale price: $250,000 This was our first house Hack that we added value to.

Adding additional assets, a familiar market, buying a house "for free" as I call it, and gaining experience with lower level of risk How did you find this deal and how did you negotiate it?

@Jack Lindstromdefinitely house hack. and if you're trying to 'cash flow' a house hack - reframe your thinking. 

I don't see doing really well with RV parking spots but there are a couple of folks renting RVs near our lake house and they seem to do OK.

From my experience, the reps at section 8 truly want to find suitable housing for their voucher holders hence I would be very suprised if they lowered the rent beyond the current rate.

I am looking to do the exact same thing except I plan to house hack it and live in the property. 

Look for books on "how to repair your house". 

They said they would sell me to directly if I wanted the house.

That POP moved north into Shelby Park and then north again into Smoketown where houses that were recently 100K now sell for $200K+ and that story isn't done yet.
