Closing costs- I am selling a place and was surprised to see a pre-printed box in the financing addendum that seller will pay $__________ in buyer closing costs.  

They originate their loan with you, but most likely they'd like to sell it in a pool to someone else; for them to get away from the convention (i.e. 95% LTV, 2.00% APR for 50 years?!) 

Take a look at the other end of the spectrum.In the Wall Street Journal (Apr 3, 2017) there's an interesting article.

And you get extra cash-flow and barring a pre-payment penalty there's nothing to stop you from paying extra principle.

There are other, newer rentals in the area and new construction being built around the city edges.About our financing: Local credit union has given us a pre-approval letter upto the full $235,000.

It costs nothing to get a pre-qualification from a bank or mortgage company.

We wrote an offer, got a pre-approval letter to accompany our offer (my banker is awesome), had it submitted by 7pm, and I believe we will get it under contract today (I'll keep you posted).
